Ms. Cotto has been practicing law since 1993. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University.
Ms. Cotto began her legal career as a Maricopa County Deputy Public Defender. As a defense attorney she handled hundreds of cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicides. Daily court appearances and numerous successful jury trials quickly earned her a reputation as a formidable advocate. She began practicing family law in 1999 and established her own firm in 2002. Her training in psychology coupled with her vast litigation experience uniquely qualify her to provide outstanding legal representation. She is passionate about the law and the practice of family law in particular. Ms. Cotto is a member of the Arizona State Bar Family Law Section, the Maricopa County Bar Family Law Section and was an editor of the family law section’s quarterly newsletter for many years. She has served and chaired various Arizona State Bar and Arizona Supreme Court committees. She is a frequent volunteer for the State Bar Law Day legal clinics, lawyers on your side and other community legal outreach events. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Ms. Cotto is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys hiking, cooking and traveling.
